Our organic cows graze on grass and clover pastures, and live outside for as much of the year as possible. They never eat genetically modified crops and we never grow them.
For most of the year, the cows graze on fresh organic pastures. During the winter they are fed on conserved grass – usually in the form of silage or hay – and other organic cereals to ensure they maintain a balanced and healthy organic diet. Unlike non-organic farms, organic cows have to be fed on a diet based on grass and other forage crops – after all it’s what cows are supposed to eat.
We don’t use artificial chemical fertilisers, and our cows graze land that has not been sprayed with artificial herbicides. Instead, we use natural fertilisers, fertility-building crops and crop rotations to produce healthy feed for our cows. It means you can be assured your milk comes from cows that have been fed food produced the natural way.
