We keep our milk in controlled conditions on the farm, ready for collection.
On average, each cow produces around 7,000 litres of milk per year, but some breeds will produce more and some less.
This milk travels from the parlour to the farm tank, where it is filtered and cooled in line with legal storage requirements. We keep it at around 3C so bacteria can’t multiply and the milk is always safe to drink.
After the fourth milking, the milk can be collected and taken to one of OMSCo’s many customers, either in the UK or in Europe, to be processed as bottled milk or other organic dairy products, such as yoghurt, butter, cheese or cream.
