Key Stage 2 - Downloads and information
The subject of organic dairy farming is an exciting opportunity for children to improve their literacy skills and engage with topical issues that face consumers such as their own health, the welfare of animals and the environment, as they prepare to take their place in society.
The education materials, created by the Organic Milk Cooperative (OMSCo), comprise a complete week of lessons or 'Challenges' that link directly to the National Literacy Strategy for years 5 & 6 and the citizenship curriculum.
The activities develop key literacy skills for the real world by using demanding non-fiction reading material. They also offer the opportunity to debate an important issue that affects their health and their environment.

OMSCo was formed in 1994 when five like-minded
organic dairy farmers joined forces to sell their organic milk. Now with around 500 members, OMSCo is the largest and longest established UK organic milk supplier.
