DONNA AIR USES MILK TO GET THE CELEB TREATMENT
This press release was posted on : 01st October 2009
Dedicated Mum, TV presenter, actress and organic food lover Donna Air has given her support to a new campaign encouraging women to think about inner beauty as the most important way to look good on the outside.
Donna believes that natural beauty depends on food and drink choices as much as genetics or regular exercise. So she has teamed up with the Organic Milk Cooperative, to call upon British women to re-think their inner beauty to bring their natural beauty out. Getting the ‘celeb’ beauty treatment is easier than you think – and it comes in a supermarket trolley!
Mum to five-year-old Freya, Donna is not worried about turning 30 this year because she sticks to a healthy diet based on organic and locally produced food. As part of her daily regime, Donna makes sure both she and her daughter drink plenty of organic milk which is produced on farms that do not use artificial chemicals, and is packed full of calcium, essential for children and mothers.
“I’ve always cared about what is in the food I eat but this becomes even more important when you have a baby and only want what’s best for them. I want to keep my daughter’s diet as natural as possible and why wouldn’t I want the same for myself? Getting all the vitamins and minerals I need from my diet is so easy and helps me look healthy and feel great too”
Here are Donna’s top tips for inner beauty:
· Find a patch in the garden, yard or balcony where you can start growing a few of your own tasty vegetables. Growing your own is good exercise and it’s great fun to involve youngsters with planting and tending
· Look out for a nearby farmers market where you can supplement your grocery shopping with organic and local produce that is free from chemicals. Get five portions of fresh fruit, vegetables or salad every day
· Put organic milk in your supermarket trolley. Important for healthy teeth and bones, milk is the easiest way to ‘go organic’ throughout the day, from breakfast cereals to bedtime coco
· Eat whole wheat pasta, granary bread and brown rice to get the fibre you need to boost digestive health
· Drink two litres of water each day to keep blemishes at bay and hydrate skin from the inside
· Try to avoid saturated fats found in processed and fried foods. They will clog up your arteries and encourage unsightly fatty deposits
Gill Crane, communications manager at the Organic Milk Suppliers’ Cooperative said, “Most people don’t realise how much their diet affects their appearance. We know Donna has been a fan of organic for many years and she truly believes that outer beauty begins on the inside. She’s the ideal campaign partner and we’re delighted that she and Freya enjoy organic milk. Together, we’re encouraging everyone to think more carefully about the quality and content of their food and drink and how this affects their own natural beauty.”
