WARNING: COWS ON THE LOOSE!

News just in…five organic cows have broken free from their field and are roaming the city streets. They go by the names of Daisy, Clover, Annabel, Gertrude and Buttercup, and may be a little unpredictable as they adjust to the bright lights of X. Police are advising people not to approach them directly, but instead to log onto www.organicmilk.co.uk and report the name of the cow and where it was sighted, for their chance to win a generous reward. The cows were last spotted in X.

This week is National Organic Dairy Week (4-10 June) and it is thought that all five cows are on a mission to ‘spread the ‘moos’ about the benefits of organic milk and dairy products. It costs less than £1 a week for a family of four to make the switch to organic milk and the cows want people to choose National Organic Dairy Week as the week they make the change?

Benefits of Organic milk:

Glass of Goodness - a recent study found that organic milk is naturally 68% higher in Omega 3 fatty acids than non-organic milk

Avoid the Nasties - Organic cows graze on pastures which are not sprayed with synthetic chemical pesticides and they are never given antibiotics unless they are actually ill.

No GM - Organic cows are not allowed to be fed GM cattle feed

Care for Animals - Happy, comfortable and contented cows are the aim of all organic farmers

Good for Wildlife and the Environment - Organic dairy farming supports on farm wildlife and is 38% more energy efficient than non-organic dairy farming
