NEW FLEET OF TANKERS FOR OMSCo

This press release was posted on : 01st August 2002

The Organic Milk Suppliers Cooperative (OMSCo) has signed a new three year distribution contract with Interoute Transport Services. The new contract will see OMSCo take delivery of a new fleet of milk tankers purpose built for the cooperative. The new fleet will be more environment-friendly, enabling larger quantities of milk to be carried per vehicle thus reducing mileage, fuel consumption and ultimately the overall number of tankers required.

The new tankers will also carry a very important message to consumers as they travel throughout the UK. The tankers bare the new OMSCO logo which reads organic milk for life- the strap line being used for its PR campaign to encourage consumers to drink organic milk.

Distribution Manager Phil Lomas is delighted with the new tankers. He said: With this new, modern and reliable fleet we will be able to operate 24 hours a day which will increase efficiency and drive costs down. Operating fewer tankers will ultimately benefit the environment, our members and our customers."

We are very proud that we can now make deliveries to our customers with this smart modern fleet. Also, it is very important that we get the organic milk message out there and this will be the major function of our new livery to promote organic milk for life and the OMSCO website.
